Château Vary stands in grounds of 175 acres of gardens, forest and farmland. The parkland was landscaped 80 years ago to provide a setting of breathtaking magnificence. It has been in the Sauve family for five generations and Monsieur and Madame Sauve extend a warm and personal welcome to our guests.
Château Vary has welcomed visitors since 1985 and during this period has extensively refurbished all accommodation. An inspection visit from 'Crystal' (one of the largest hotel and self-catering operators) graded the stables and cottage as 3* and the Chateau as 4*.
Quality and comfort are of paramount importance, as well as practical items such as washing machines, dishwashers, microwaves, irons and boards and TVs which are to be found in all apartments. The Chateau apartments are elegantly furnished in traditional style each being self-contained with separate entrances. The stables are furnished in rustic style, and are independently located in the grounds. The size of the grounds and the layout of the accommodation ensures everyone has space and privacy. Each unit has garden furniture and a barbecue. It is a wonderful setting for a family holiday.
The smaller pool (9m x 5m) is covered and heated which is particularly appreciated in the early and late season. The second larger pool is 12m x 6m and is refreshing during the hotter months.
There are the following shared facilities: bowls area, swings, paddling pool, short tennis, fishing pond, table tennis, forest walks, volleyball, children's play house.
Nearby in the local village of Jarze (1km) there is indoor and outdoor tennis and a restaurant and shops.
In the local area there is golf, horse riding and canoeing as well as bikes being available on site. This area offers the true flavour of rural France, with interesting market towns, excellent restaurants, a wide range of wines, and of course the grand Chateaux.
Chateau Haut
First Floor Apartment - four bedrooms sleeps 10
This is entered via the main steps into the lounge. To the left is the dining room.
The dining room leads through to the kitchen and also to the large shaded terrace with barbecue and garden furniture.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, gas cooker, microwave, iron and board, fridge.There is a TV in the sitting room and a Wc in the corridor. On the second floor there are four bedrooms, two of which have double beds and en-suite bathrooms no wc. The third has twin beds and ensuite shower room no wc. The fourth has twin beds and a set of bunk beds. On the same floor is a shower room with WC.
Bed linen is included within the rental price but no towels.
Chateau Bas
Ground Floor Apartment - two bedrooms sleeping six
This is entered on the opposite side of the Chateau.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, gas cooker, microwave, iron and board, fridge. The sitting room has a TV.
The first bedroom has a double bed and leads off from the lounge/dining room. The second bedroom has twin beds and a set of bunk beds with an en-suite bathrooms that has a second entrance via the corridor.
Bed linen is included within the rental price but no towels.
