Chateau Vary is set in its own grounds of 50 acres, which is a mixture of garden, lawns, forest and pasture land. It provides a unique setting for a stay in the Loire Valley. It has an outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool, access for forest walks, local shops and larger towns nearby, wine tasting route, and bicycle hire in close proximity.
Chateau Vary has been in the Sauve family for 5 generations and in 2019 Benedicte becomes the latest family member to take over Chateau Vary.
The original Manor House dates from 1840 at which point the wings were added and the elevated terraces to give the charm and grandeur of a small chateau.
120 years ago the horse and carriage would pass under the main steps for passengers to alight, before the horses were taken down to the stables. Electricity was provided from a large store of batteries, the house heated by wood fires, with the wood stored under the large terrace which has since been enclosed to create a reception room.
Chateau Vary first took guests in 1986 in the chateau and cottages. In 1999 the stables were refurbished and 2019 will see the complete refurbishment of the chateau.
The chateau will have 7 letting rooms all en suite to provide a high standard of accommodation. This will further enhance the location as a venue to be enjoyed by individual guests, groups, families and wedding parties. Facilities such as the terrace and reception rooms can be enjoyed by everyone staying at Chateau Vary.
Two wonderful indoor (heated) and outdoor pools ensure everyone staying has activity even in the slightly cooler months. During the long hot summer the outdoor pool is the firm favourite, but in the spring and late autumn the indoor pool comes into its own.
